Homease is an application that manages the vacation rental home devices and their control (AirBnB, Homeaway, Wimdu) to make the whole process easy for hosts and guests.
Twisualize is an experimental data visualization of Tweets as opinions on various topics based on research studies. This was a project I worked on for 10 weeks during the fall semester of 2017 for my Interactive IV class. It has been a very interesting learning experience and I plan to continue work on this project.
For independent music producers, commercial release of work includes accessing crucial copyright information of sounds they sample. The current process involves several points of friction through unreliable communication channels that drastically reduce user success.
How can this problem be solved?
SAMPLR is a concept for an application that uses audio recognition to empower independent music producers by facilitating communicating key copyright information and easy communication channels to copyright holders.
My research was focused towards understanding the current audio sample clearance process to identify potential obstacles. Then, my design approach was to integrate the application's features into a producer's workflow through visual and interaction design.
RIT's MyCourses is a high traffic website used by students, instructors & staff. Students visit the site everyday to access crucial course information such as readings, assignments, dropbox submissions & grades.
User surveys and design research helped in identifying the current design's usability issues.
Therefore, my design direction was focused on enabling instant access to weekly course materials, facilitating smooth out of classroom communication while representing RIT as one of the leading innovative technical institutions of the country
Over the summer of 2016, I had the chance to work as a product design intern on the LastPass team at LogMeIn in Boston. The experience provided me a wonderful opportunity to learn, about the product design methodology in a SaaS environment, and further contribute to projects through information architecture, sketching, wireframing, visual/ interaction design and user testing. An animation about the Iroquois creation story for the Rochester Museum & Science Center.
The creation story is one of the classic stories passed down from one generation to the other through personal narrations from elders. My direction was to focus on simulating a personal narration while also giving basic information about the confederacy and its constituents. I chose a loose illustration style as such stories are given a new dimension as they're passed over generations.
The illustrations were made in illustrator, animated in After Effects and edited in Premier
Voice narration: Sean Beckett
'Exploration Station' is a concept TV channel that encourages travelling and exploration by covering unique places across the globe.
My approach to the animation was to capture the essence of the first hand experience of a traveler. Therefore, I used images from my trip to the Himalayan region. Townships sprinkled over a vast, misty landscape brought out the beauty of the region.
The logo was rendered in Cinema4d, compositions put together in Photoshop & animated in After Effects
