RIT's MyCourses is a high traffic website used by students, instructors & staff. Students visit the site everyday to access crucial course information such as readings, assignments, dropbox submissions & grades.
User surveys and design research helped in identifying the current design's usability issues.
Therefore, my design direction was focused on enabling instant access to weekly course materials, facilitating smooth out of classroom communication while representing RIT as one of the leading innovative technical institutions of the country
Tennis is a sport that has spread all around the world. Top players come from different parts of the world and
have their own unique style and strategy.
Yet, there are very few options for lovers of the sport to enjoy products their favorite players use. Majority of tennis equipment is bought from major sports warehouses which offer a limited choice of products and guidance.
TNNS is a concept store dedicated to help customers purchase their perfect racquet through interactive features such as the 'Racquet Finder'.Such features help customers shortlist racquets in a matter of seconds and saves them the pain of dealing with boring technical information.Understanding the increasing interest for fashion on the circuit, it also features latest designer apparel worn by your favorite players!
RIT's College of Imaging Arts & Science annually hosts 'Creative Industry Day', an event for students to network with top companies in their respective industries. The event website displays the profiles of registered students from various majors for potential employers to view.
The current design allows students to only update basic information about themselves.
My User Experience direction was focused on allowing students to upload small thumbnails of projects thereby giving employers a quick glance of the student's work . A tag based skills search system will also allow easy accessibility to niche interest fields. My visual direction was geared towards making the website image heavy while enabling easy scanning.
An animation about the Iroquois creation story for the Rochester Museum & Science Center.
The creation story is one of the classic stories passed down from one generation to the other through personal narrations from elders. My direction was to focus on simulating a personal narration while also giving basic information about the confederacy and its constituents. I chose a loose illustration style as such stories are given a new dimension as they're passed over generations.
The illustrations were made in illustrator, animated in After Effects and edited in Premier
Voice narration: Sean Beckett
'Exploration Station' is a concept TV channel that encourages travelling and exploration by covering unique places across the globe.
My approach to the animation was to capture the essence of the first hand experience of a traveler. Therefore, I used images from my trip to the Himalayan region. Townships sprinkled over a vast, misty landscape brought out the beauty of the region.
The logo was rendered in Cinema4d, compositions put together in Photoshop & animated in After Effects
Image & video experiences can be vastly improved with good interaction; Through my explorations, I hope to understand and implement design thinking ideas to achieve a good user experience
